Buy the Pegs Trousers sewing pattern from Merchant & Mills. A pair of 'peg' trousers featuring a fly front, angled pockets and turn-ups. The front legs can be half-lined for woollens.

Suggested fabrics: Mid-heavyweight cotton canvas, 8 oz. organic sanded twill, corduroy, light-medium weight woollens and 7-10 oz. denim. Lighter weight cloths like linen and tencel/linen will give you a softer silhouette.

Fabric requirements: All with or without nap unless otherwise indicated.

Sizes 6 – 18

Self: 110 cm (43 1/2″) wide fabric: 2.4 - 2.5 m (2 3/4 yd) // 120 cm (47″) wide fabric: 2.1 - 2.5 m (2 1/4 - 2 3/4 yd) // 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 1.6 - 2.2 m (1 3/4 - 2 1/2 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric: 1.3 - 2 m (1 1/2 - 2 1/4 yd).

Front leg and pocket lining (for woollens, etc.): 110 cm (43 1/2″) wide fabric: 0.7 - 1.1 m (3/4 - 1 1/4 yd) // 120-150 cm (47"-60") wide fabric: 0.7 m (3/4 yd) // 140-150 cm (55"-60") wide fabric (without nap, front on cross grain): 0.7 - 0.8 m (3/4 - 1 yd).

Pocket lining (unlined trousers): 110-150 cm (43 1/2"-60") wide fabric: 0.4 m (1/2 yd).

Sizes 18 – 28

Self: 110 cm (43 1/2″) wide fabric*: 2.4 - 2.8 m (2 3/4 - 3 1/4 yd) // 120-140 cm (47"-55") wide fabric*: 2.4 - 2.5 m (2 3/4 yd) // 150 cm (60″) wide fabric*: 2.2 - 2.5 m (2 1/2 - 2 3/4 yd).

Front leg and pocket lining (for woollens, etc.): 110-150 cm (43 1/2"-60") wide fabric: 1.1 m (1 1/4 yd) // 140-150 cm (55"-60") wide fabric (without nap, front on cross grain): 0.9 m (1 yd).

Pocket lining (unlined trousers): 110-150 cm (43 1/2"-60") wide fabric: 0.4 m (1/2 yd).

* The waistband may be parallel to the selvedge, so therefore not on the nap.

Sizing: UK 6 – 18 or UK 18 – 28 (approx. UK 6 – 16/18 or UK 18 – 30, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.
