The Maker's Atelier Utility Dress, Tunic and Top

Buy the Utility Dress, Tunic and Top sewing pattern from The Maker’s Atelier. Enjoy simple and relaxed summer dressing with this pull-on, drop-waist style. This is a loose-fitting dress or top, with the drawstring adding definition but not completely cinching in the waist. Instructions are given for the dress, tunic or top with or without a drawstring and an optional front split detail.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics including cottons, linens, parachute silks and viscose.

Fabric requirements: 

Dress: 115 cm wide fabric: 3 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 1.6 - 2.2 m.

Tunic: 115 cm wide fabric: 2 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 1.4 - 1.7 m.

Top: 115 cm wide fabric: 1.8 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 1 - 1.4 m.

Sizing: 8 – 18 (approx. UK 8 – 16/18, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Drawstring version only: 1.6 m of 15 mm cotton tape; 2 m of 3 mm corded elastic; 2 pull-cord ends.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (36 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets) // Layers: No // Projector file: No. Please note you must print all sizes to ensure no pieces or markings are lost.
