Buy the Willa Shorts sewing pattern from Spaghetti Western Sewing. The Willa Shorts are a girl boxer for the bloomer curious. The pattern features generous ease, a high rise, elastic waist, ruffle hem, and curved split side seam for extra ventilation. The perfect mix of sweet and sporty.

The front and back curves are designed to hit mid-thigh, and the waist is designed to sit at or slightly above your natural waist. The pocket design includes pocket stays.

Suggested fabrics: Light to mid weight woven fabrics. It looks especially nice in fabrics with a crisp hand such as cotton lawns, voiles, and poplins. If using a mid weight fabric, use a lightweight fabric for the pockets to reduce bulk.

Fabric requirements: Yardage includes ruffle. 

45" (114 cm) wide fabric: 2 1/4 - 2 3/4 yd (2 - 2.3 m).

55" (140 cm) wide fabric: 2 1/4 yd (2 m).

Sizing: 3XS – 3XL (approx. UK 4 – 32, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

This pattern is drafted for a 5'3" (160 cm) tall person, so you may need to add length to the rise or inseam.

Notions: 1.5" (3.8 cm) wide non-roll elastic, enough to circle your waist // Optional: 1.5" (3.8 cm) wide trim such as eyelet or lace as a substitution for fabric ruffle.
