Petits D'om Bahia Swimsuit

Buy the Child/Teen Bahia Swimsuit sewing pattern from Petits D'om. Version A has a round neckline and straps that are an extension of the body. Version B has a straight neckline at the back, a very slightly rounded neckline at the front, and thin straps which cross or not at the back. For each version, you can make a one-piece swimsuit, two-piece swimsuit with a long top, or two-piece swimsuit with a cropped (bra-like) top. Each version can also be embellished with a ruffle or skirt at the waist, resulting in about 30 different combinations! This swimsuit can be sewn with a sewing machine or an overlocker.

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics: Lycra. Choose a fabric with at least 10% elastane, combined with polyamide or nylon, and 4-way stretch. You will also need swimsuit lining.

Fabric requirements: 

One-piece version

Lycra (for all pieces): 140 cm wide fabric: 65 - 100 cm.

Swimsuit lining: 80 cm wide fabric: 65 - 100 cm.

Two-piece version

Lycra (for all pieces): 140 cm wide fabric: 25 - 70 cm.

Swimsuit lining: 80 cm wide fabric: 25 - 35 cm.

The yardage of the main fabric is sufficient if you want to cut the bias, ruffle or skirt in it. If you want to cut some pieces in contrasting fabric:

Lycra - contrasting fabric for bikini bottom: 110 cm wide fabric: 25 - 35 cm.

Lycra - contrasting fabric for the ruffle or skirt: 25 - 35 cm x 40 cm wide.

Lycra - contrasting fabric for the bias: 140 cm wide fabric: 20 cm.

Sizing: 2 - 16 years. Please check the size chart.

Notions: Jersey (ballpoint) needle; 100% polyester thread; woolly nylon thread (optional); 6 - 9 mm wide rubber elastic, 2 - 3.2 m for one-piece version or 3 - 4.7 m for two-piece version.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; print-at-home pattern (12 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet). This pattern has layers so you can print only the size(s) you need.
