Itch to Stitch Carmo Top

Buy the Carmo Top sewing pattern from Itch to Stitch. This asymmetrical knit top has elegant front and back V-necklines and a distinctive diagonal scarf, which wraps over one shoulder and around the opposite side. The long sleeves are finished with long cuffs and the bodice is finished with a bottom band.

Suggested fabrics: 

Primary fabric: Use light or medium-weight knit fabric with 20-30% horizontal stretch and good recovery (with elastane) such as jersey, sweater knit and French terry.

Neck tape: Use very light knit fabric with good recovery such as a very lightweight jersey, power mesh and nylon tricot. The neck tape is for finishing the left neckline. It is not supposed to be visible, but it may still peek out as you move, so it is best to use a coordinating colour.

Fabric requirements: 

Primary fabric: 54″ (135 cm) wide fabric: 1 5/8 - 3 1/8 yd (150 - 280 cm).

Neck tape: 45" (114 cm) wide fabric: 1/8 yd (10 cm).

Sizing: US 00 – 40 (approx. UK 6/8 – 34/36, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 2 yd/m of 1/2" or 3/8" (1.25 cm or 1 cm)-wide straight fusible stay tape (or you may cut your own using lightweight woven fusible interfacing on the straight grain).
