Itch to Stitch Belize Shorts and Skort

Buy the Belize Shorts and Skort sewing pattern from Itch to Stitch. With just this one pattern, you can create five different styles of shorts and skorts. They all sit at the natural waist and feature a relaxed fit, elastic at the side and back waist, and a medium length inseam (4 1/2" to 5 3/4", or 11.4 cm to 14.6 cm). They are also a breeze to sew, leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy the sunshine!

View A: Pleat front shorts with front pockets
View B: Flat front shorts with front pockets
View C: Flat front shorts with no pockets
View D: Skort with front pockets and shorts back
View E: Skort with front pockets and skirt back

Suggested fabrics:

Primary fabric: Use lightweight denim, linen, poplin, twill, crepe and gabardine silk dupioni, or other medium weight woven fabric with or without stretch. Use slightly lighter weight fabric for Views D and E.

Lining (Views A, B, D and E): Use lightweight woven fabric, such as twill, broadcloth or quilting cotton.

Fabric requirements:

Primary fabric: 54" (135 cm) wide fabric: Views A and B, 7/8 - 1 1/4 yd (80 - 110 cm) // View C, 3/4 - 1 1/4 yd (70 - 110 cm) // View D, 1 1/4 - 1 3/4 yd (110 - 160 cm) // View E, 1 1/2 - 2 1/4 yd (130 - 210 cm).

Primary fabric: 45" (115 cm) wide fabric (sizes 00-12 only): View A, 1 1/8 yd (100 cm) // View B, 1 - 1 1/8 yd (90 - 100 cm) // View C, 1 1/8 yd (100 cm) // View D, 1 1/2 - 1 5/8 yd (130 - 150 cm) // View E, 1 7/8 - 2 1/4 yd (170 - 200 cm).

Lining (Views A, B, D and E): 44" or 60" (115 cm or 150 cm) wide fabric: 3/8 yd (30 cm).

Sizing: US 00 – 20 (approx. UK 8 – 22). Please check the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Lightweight woven or weft insertion interfacing; 1 1/4" (3 cm)-wide elastic, up to 23 1/4" (59 cm); 16" (41 cm) of 3/8" (1 cm)-wide bias fusible stay tape (or cut your own using lightweight interfacing).
