Buy the Well's Bay Bikini sewing pattern from Halfmoon Atelier. This reversible bikini is strikingly minimal yet versatile.

Living in a hard-to-reach area, Meghann Halfmoon originally designed this bikini to use the stretch of strips of swimwear fabric - "elast-ish" - rather than special elastics or other notions (although elastic can be used). The wireless top has under-bust darts, thin shoulder straps and ties at the back. The bottoms are low-rise hipsters that provide full coverage, thanks to the curved seam of the side panels. Ideal for the minimalist who cannot choose, the reversibility gives you four different wearable combinations and plenty of opportunity for colour-blocking.

Suggested fabrics: Medium weight, 4-way stretch swimwear fabric with approx. 40%-65% horizontal stretch and 25%-50% cross grain stretch. Swimwear fabric typically contains 80%-90% nylon or polyester and 10%-20% elastane (i.e. spandex, Lycra).

Fabric requirements: All sizes require a total of 1 m (or 1 yd) of fabric, split between two different colours or prints. The instructions use a solid on one side, and a print on the other for clarity.

Sizing: 1 - 10 (approx. UK 6 - 20). Please check the designer's size chart for body measurements.

This pattern is drafted for a B cup (a full bust that is 5 cm (2") larger than the upper bust).

Notions: Coordinating thread (polyester, stretch or wooly nylon); stretch sewing machine needle; hand-sewing needle // Optional: 1/4"-3/8" swimwear elastic (this may provide more support); foam cups.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (10 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet). This pattern has layers so you can print just the size(s) you need.
