Buy the Gemini Dress sewing pattern from Cris Wood Sews. The Gemini Dress is named for its two-in-one nature. It can be tied in two ways for two totally different looks.

The dress has a shallow funnel neckline and short grown-on sleeves. The front features a centre panel and two side panels with top stitching at the seams, where a narrow tie belt is inserted. 

The belt can be tied in front creating a subtle caftan look, defining the waist while the back of the dress is free falling. Or the belt can be tied around the back, creating an entirely different silhouette, skimming the body in front with slight gathers below the tie in back.

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight or mid-weight woven fabrics with a fluid or soft drape, such as linen and linen blends, cotton lawn, cotton voile, gauze, rayon, viscose, tencel, silk and viscose twill. Stable knits with little to no stretch, such as ponte, double knits, French terry, wool jersey.

Bottom weight, stiff or heavy fabrics are not recommended. Take care with directional fabrics; additional fabric may be required.
